LA JOLLA, Calif. — The University of California San Diego women's basketball team continues to solidify its coaching staff with the addition of Britinee Yasukochi as assistant coach, Tritons head coach Heidi VanDerveer announced on Monday.
Yasukochi and VanDerveer have a long history together, stemming from Yasukochi's playing career at Occidental College when VanDerveer was head coach.
The Oceanside, Calif., native spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at Cal State East Bay, following a two-year stint as an assistant coach at the University of San Francisco. She also served as director of basketball operations at UC Davis for three seasons, in addition to stops at Long Beach State and Saddleback College.
“It's wonderful to add Britinee to our coaching staff,” said VanDerveer. “Britinee brings tremendous coaching experience in both the CCAA, Big West and West Coast Conference. She is from Oceanside, played at The Bishop's School and Yasukochi family is engrained in the SoCal basketball landscape.
